Many individuals and businesses are being severely impacted by the economic effects of the current coronavirus pandemic.

Sole proprietors, contractors, freelancers, even limited liability companies are being forced to rethink their business plan and ensure that their business is indeed”pandemic proof”.

So, how does one go about “pandemic proofing” a business? Here are the steps to pandemic proof your business.

    Objective

Unfortunately, no matter the size and what a business does, if it exists during today’s business economy, any existing business should take every action necessary; as a matter of priority, to pandemic proof their business.

The objective of pandemic proofing your business is to make sure you have made all the adjustments necessary to ensure that when your business reemerges in this new pandemic-threatened global economy, it is in the absolute best position it could be in to ensure its survival.

    Create a Website

Now, if your business happens to be a brick-&-mortar, one of the first adjustments you will need to focus your attention on is your existence online.

If your business does not already have a website, then this is now your priority number one! If you already have a website, congratulations! We will get to those details shortly.

Back to the matters at hand. As a business owner, in order to pandemic proof your business, you will need to look at your business; identify your niche; and create an online presence by creating a website.

Any shrewd business owner trying to survive the current economic conditions, now threatening the be the new business normal, must embrace the internet in some way or another to ensure its chances of survival.

How does one do that? Well, it really depends on the type of business that you have. This is not necessarily as straightforward as it sounds for some business owners.

    Sell your Products or Services

Basically, if your brick-&-mortar business is based on the sale of products, meaning customers come to your establishment to purchase what you have to offer for sale, you may want to consider selling your products online and shipping them to your customers.

By doing this, you have created a way for your customers to access your physical products conveniently online. They will not need to leave their homes; while locked in by various quarantine measures. Additionally, by adding this new online service your new customer base has now been upgraded to a global one!

Now, if your current business offers a service, you will need to figure out how to offer and deliver that service to them digitally. This is where your honest assessment and creativity is key.

    Service Providers

By the way, there are so many service providers out there, all that you need to do is find one that matches your budget, needs, and taste.

Once you have made these important decisions, its time to focus on creating and launching your website.

Well, not quite. There will be a few other logistical matters you will need to consider. You need to ensure that you are truly prepared and functional by the time you complete your business’ transition online.

This, of course, is making sure you create and test your delivery system to ensure that your product or services do reach your customers efficiently and accurately.

Now, we are ready to enter the word of the internet or the “Worldwide Web” (www). Cool huh?

There are so many businesses online that sell domain names and offer web hosting services. This decision alone could easily overwhelm the most adventurous of business owners.
